Getting involved
How YOU can influence the way Hexagon works
Core Values
Hexagon values the input and opinions of all of its residents and they are at the heart of everything we do as an Association. The Resident Involvement Team may be the first point of contact for residents on involvement issues, but all of our teams are committed to ensuring that we work alongside residents to achieve the best service possible. Hexagon will offer a variety of ways for residents and service users to become involved and to allow residents to choose the ways in which they engage with us.
Resident Involvement Policy
Our Resident Involvement Policy summarizes our strategy for working alongside residents. The policy has been developed in consultation with residents and will be reviewed with them annually to assess its impact and effectiveness. Below is a summary of the key objectives we want to achieve through working alongside Hexagon residents:
-
To ensure effective and open communication with all of Hexagon’s diverse residents
-
To continuously improve our services
-
To ensure accountability to all of Hexagon’s diverse residents
-
To provide support for individual residents and to their communities
The Resident Involvement Policy is freely available to all residents. To obtain a copy simply click here.
Resident Involvement Team
The Resident Involvement Team supports and implements our resident involvement work. If you are interested in being an active resident, whether it is becoming a board member, setting up a residents’ association in your area or just being willing to take part in occasional surveys, please contact the team on 020 8778 6699 and ask for Catherine Foxwell or Marley Simmons.
Community Investment Team
The Community Investment Team also works to involve residents by providing a range of special projects including: The Heaxagon Academy (an inovative scheme offering work and taster placements programmes for residents), Employability workshops, Small Grants Programme, the Young Achievers Awards and the first ever Housing Association Time Bank.

Supporting Resident Involvement
Methods and issues:
Hexagon promises to involve its diverse residents using a range of methods and projects and to consult on the issues that residents say are most important to them. Hexagon appreciates that residents want to be involved in different ways and are interested in different issues.
Training:
Hexagon provides training support for residents to enable their participation as active residents. You won’t necessarily need training to be involved as an active resident, but some of Hexagon’s involvement work requires specific skills. We will provide free training for these activities.
Language:
Translators will be provided where necessary to enable resident involvement. Staff appreciate that some residents may have literacy difficulties and many of our involvement activities do not require residents to do reading or writing.
