Social Homebuy
Social Homebuy is a scheme designed to help existing tenants buy the home you are living in already. Subject to acceptance, you could buy your home with a fixed discount (currently £16,000 for all Hexagon areas except Swale), and you can choose to buy your home 100% outright, or a smaller share. If you buy a smaller share, you continue to pay rent on the part you don't own, and you can buy the rest at a later date.
The number of Hexagon tenants who can buy their own home through the Social Homebuy scheme in any one year is very limited, and a waiting list is in operation. For more details, or to register an interest, please complete the form below.
We are sorry, but Social Homebuy is not currently available to Hexagon tenants living in a home with 4 bedrooms or more. Eligibility conditions apply.
The Right to Acquire. If you are a Hexagon tenant and the home you live in was built or converted after April 1997, then you may be eligible to buy your home through the Right to Acquire. Homes are sold at the market value, less a fixed discount (currently £16,000). To qualify, you must have been a social housing tenant (but not necessarily with Hexagon the whole time) for at least 2 years if your first tenancy began before 18 January 2005, or for at least 5 years if your first tenancy began after 18th January 2005.
For more information, or to apply for the Right to Acquire, complete the form below or call us on 200 8778 6699. Eligibility conditions apply.
Open Market Homebuy can help existing tenants to buy a home on the open market. If you can raise 75% of the purchase price, the scheme can help you with an 'equity' loan to cover the rest. Hexagon do not operate this scheme - but Hexagon tenants are eligible to apply through Tower Homes. For more details, go to www.firststepslondon.org or call 020 8850 9686.
