What is the selection process?

An annual nomination and election process is carried out prior to the Boards AGM in Septmeber.  Every Hexagon tenant will receive an information sheet inviting nominations, and each person who wishes to be a Tenant Board Member is asked to complete a personal statement as to why they should be considered for the role.

In order to be eligible to stand as a Tenant Board Member, candidates have to satisfy the following criterion:

• that the tenant is not more than 6 weeks in rent arrears or not more than £200 in rent arrears except in cases where the arrears has been caused by housing benefit delays or other administrative delays

• that the tenant has not been found guilty of a Court judgment for anti social behaviour

• that the tenant has not been found guilty of a Court judgment for breech of tenancy

• that the tenant is not prohibited by law from being a director of a company

• that candidates sign up to a commitment to Hexagons Equality & Diversity policy

• that candidates do not have unspent criminal convictions

If there are more candidates than places, Hexagon tenants will be asked to vote for who they wish to be on the Board.  All Hexagon tenants will be given the opportunity to vote.  All candidates will be asked to submit a statement to accompany the ballot form.
