This latest award for Falcon Works comes on the back of securing a Gold Standard Award from Building For Life, and being promoted by Southwark as one of its’ flagship schemes.
It is fast becoming an iconic development recognised for its’ design excellence. The HCA themselves have recently described it as “One of the best schemes they have seen in London……”.
The 93 home affordable housing scheme built by Osborne, embraces all the latest thinking in high density housing and urban design and is very fitting in its context. The buildings have been carefully designed to be in close proximity to each other, creating a new pedestrian street inside the site. Within the development every block faces onto at least one shared amenity space including the playground. The combination of extensive landscaping and carefully positioned residential blocks creates a series of secure and overlooked ‘green pockets’ that unite the scheme and help create a strong sense of community.
*The winner of this category was Tower Hamlets Community Housing Association and Karakusevic Carson Architects
