Community Investment Small Grants Programme 08/09
Hexagon is establishing a small grants programme to fund community projects in the areas where our residents live. Grants of up to £500 will be available for ideas that benefit the community.
Projects must be able to demonstrate that Hexagon residents will benefit, but we also expect to see a benefit to the wider community as well.
Although funding is available for all kinds of community projects, priority will be given to ideas which reflect at least one of the priorities of Hexagon’s community investment work. These are:
- Tackling Worklessness
- Engaging Young People
- Developing Time Banking
The grants will be decided by a panel of Hexagon staff in partnership with residents/service users. The following are the dates remaining this year:

Friday, 1st August 2008 Week beginning 4th August 2008
Friday, 31st October 2008 Week beginning 3rd November 2008
Friday, 9th January 2009 Week beginning 12th january 2009
Who can apply?
The following groups can apply as long as they can demonstrate that their idea meets the criteria set out below.
- Tenants and Residents Associations
- Community Organisations serving Hexagon Residents / Service Users
- Groups of Hexagon Residents / Service Users
- Individual Hexagon Resident / Service User
The Criteria
To be a priority, the project should reflect at least one of the community investment priorities (as stated above)
- There must be a demonstrable need for the project
- The project should benefit Hexagon residents as well as the wider community
- The applicant should have the skills and experience to deliver the project or be willing to gain these skills and experience
