New Residents for former garage site
Blackheath Standard
Hexagon's latest scheme to be handed over, was the former Charlton Road Garages site which was completed on 27 March 2007.
The scheme consists of 29 one, two and three-bedroom apartments – 10 for shared ownership and 19 for general needs rent, 3 of which are wheel-chair adapted.
Here’s how the development has benefited some of the residents that have been allocated apartmentments on the scheme:-
Mr & Mrs Majomi currently live in privated rented accommodation in Lewisham with their two sons (Jamie & Clarkson) aged 3 & 5 and are delighted to have been offered one of the two bedroom shared ownership apartments.
“We think that shared ownership is an excellent concept as we would never have been able to afford a property worth £265,000 in Blackheath, under any other circumstances.
Our main reason for moving to Charlton Road is to get a foot on the housing ladder as we believe that private renting only benefits the landlord. Buying this flat will provide us with more security and help us plan for the future. It will also be good to be able to pass something on to our children.
The flat is well designed and excellent materials have been used throughout we particularly like the balcony that gives us some outdoor space. The location is excellent as it is near to the shops, a library, banks etc., and the Heath and Greenwich park are also nearby which is great for our children”.
