Residents' Day
Residents' Day

Hexagon Housing Association will be holding its second annual conference for residents on Saturday, 20th September 2008. This will give residents and service users the opportunity to discuss their views and feed back on aspects of the housing service. The event is known as the ‘Residents’ Day’ and is being held at Lewisham Town Hall in Catford from 10:30am to 4.15pm.

The Residents’ Day will give residents the chance to speak directly to Hexagon staff and gather information from displays on a range of services provided by Hexagon and from partner agencies who will be in attendance on the day.
Residents will be able to receive feedback on Hexagon’s performance over the past year as well as hear about new initiatives under consideration. It will also be a chance for residents to express their views and priorities through participating in workshops on Involving Young People, Managing Your Money, Repairs, and Training and Employment.
The day will see something for all the family. While the adults are engaging with Hexagon staff on the housing service, there will be at the same time:
• activities for 5-12 year olds – provided by Nzinga Dance, where children will be able to
participate in African drumming, African dance, storytelling and craft workshops
• activities for 12-19 year olds – provided by Positive Youth Experience, offering a choice of DJ
Skills training, an MC workshop and a Music Production workshop.
• crèche for under 5’s
However, please note that the above activities will only take place if there are enough places requested in advance by 5th September.
Other activities taking place include the “Big Brother Booth” (Have Your Say!), a fun-type Quiz, a Question & Answer session and, at the end of the Day, an exciting Prize Draw. A free buffet lunch will also be provided as well as refreshments throughout the day.
All Hexagon residents and service users are invited. Entry to the Residents’ Day will be by ticket only and places are limited. Tickets are FREE and can be obtained by contacting the Residents Involvement Section on 020 8768 7970 or at msimmons@hexagon.org.uk by Friday 5th September.
Tom McCormack, Chief Executive said “We aim to provide a variety of different ways in which residents can engage with Hexagon and have a direct input into service provision. I would like to thank the residents for all their hard work in helping to plan the Residents’ Day and without whom this event would not be possible.”
